Hair Routine
Many of us will take time each and every night to perform some sort of skin care routine. But why does our hair often seem to get neglected? Why don’t we seem to give the same attention to our hair as we do to our skin? Truth is, your hair can benefit greatly from a little TLC before bed. Keep in mind though, your hair is unique and may require different types of treatments than others. We’ve provided some tips to help you find your best hair routine.
Moisturize Your Hair
As we often see during the cold, wintery months is our skin dries out. Our hair is no different! Often the type of people needing to moisturize their hair during these times are those with a coarse hair type. When you moisturize your hair as part of your nightly hair routine, a conditioner of any kind will typically do the job. Going one step further to get rid of the dryness, you can sleep with your head in a scarf, preferably made of silk. This will simply protect your hair and allow it to be nicely moisturized the following morning.
Braid Your Hair
For those with curly or wavy hair, you may benefit from braiding your hair at night as part of your nightly hair routine. The braids will set your hair for the next morning by keeping it tight and compressed while you sleep, free of tangles. There are also a number of products that can be useful for curly or wavy hair that are meant for either in the morning or right before bed. We realize that curly or wavy hair can be a love/hate relationship, so if you’re having troubles or getting frustrated with your hair, visit us and we can help give you some hair care and hair routine tips!
hair Routine Involving Dry Shampoo
Dry shampoo can be a very useful product to include in your hair routine. If you have fine and straight hair, you can simply put the powder into your hair before bed. After doing so, putting your hair into a ball or pony tail will help keep your hair protected overnight and control the amount of oils that accumulate in your hair. Additionally, some may prefer a powdered dry shampoo and some hair types may react better to an aerosol. Finding the right one for you may require a trial of both and seeing which one your hair is reacting with more positively.
Additional Tips for a Great Hair Routine
In addition to the things you may do to ensure you wake up with a healthy head of hair, there is also a few positive habits to try and get into that may complement your hair routine. First of all, try and give your hair a brush before you hit the pillow. This will help to spread out your hair’s natural oils around all areas of your hair. Additionally, it’s best not to sleep when your hair is still wet. Wet hair can be more prone to breakage, resulting in hair that looks and feels much less healthy.
Lastly, giving your scalp a quick massage can also be beneficial for the health of your hair. This will promote healthy growth, along with a few additional benefits like sleeping better and getting greater levels of rest.
